Indian Wedding Decorations

Indian weddings are grand affairs and include the participation of all the family members and friends. The preparations for Indian weddings starts from time ahead as every wedding comprises of a wide variety of pre and post wedding functions. The elaborate ceremonies are colorful and offer a glimpse of the traditional Indian society. Indian wedding decorations are an integral part of the entire celebration. The grand and elegant decorations enhance the mood of the occasion and offer a dramatic backdrop to the entire set up.
In Indian weddings the bride and the groom receives royal attention from all their family members and friends. They are showered with blessings and gifts and the entire occasion can be compared to an event found in the pages of fairytales.

Indian Wedding decorations mainly concentrate on the wedding venue. The wedding mandap is decorated with flowers and decors. Red cloth is also used for decoration as it is considered to be auspicious and even looks bright. Nowadays, people generally opt for theme weddings, which is a perfect blending of Indian ethnicity and western culture. Flowers are an integral part of the Indian wedding decorations and so a wide variety of flowers are used to decorate the wedding venue, groom’s car and even the horse that leads the groom to the wedding venue. Shamianas popularly known as the decorative tents are extremely popular among the people and are often used in the grand Indian wedding ceremonies.
The pattern and form of the tents however, depends on the budget of the wedding. You may opt for the bandhani print, extensive Gujrati work or the ones adored with traditional mirror work and satin cloth that looks impressive and at once draws the attention of your guests. Impressively designed carpets are used to decorate the wedding venues along with the decors that are specially meant for the special occasion. Indian wedding decorations are however, incomplete without the participation of lanterns and candles. The Indian traditional lanterns are available with the decorator companies and the variety depends on the money one is willing to spend. Some of the families also love to use exotic incense sticks that refresh and purify the entire ambience. There was a time when the grooms used to avail the grandly decorated horses to reach the bride’s place in time but nowadays, decorated cars are mostly preferred by people. The cars are decorated with rose and jasmine along with other forms of décor.
