There are certain rituals known as the Istikhara and Imam-Zamin followed by the Muslims before the wedding takes place and in this ritual the couple takes permission from God. While the women of the boy’s family see the girl for the first time then the boy’s mother ties the Imam Zamin on the upper portion of the girl’s right arm which is a silver or gold coin that’s wrapped around in a silk cloth. The ceremony of Mangni is commonly found in all the weddings of the Indian origin and is observed with distribution of sweets and fruits between the boy’s and the girl’s families. The ceremony of Manjha is known to commence few days prior to the actual occasion of the ceremony of Nikah and in the ceremony of Sanchaq jewelry and cloths are sent to the bride’s house from the groom’s house.
