During this puja a piece of thread also known as mauli is known to be tied around the groom’s hands including his parents. This puja is done to satisfy lord Ganesha and to request him to take away all the problems and hazards during the occasion of wedding. Following this puja ceremony the groom’s family has to continue the Ganesha worship every day until the wedding in the house is over.
