Indian Wedding Traditions

India, the land of colorful traditions and age old customs is the cradle to different communities and religious castes is known to offer varied wedding traditions followed by the various states and religious communities in India. The various states in India have their own unique wedding traditions which vary from one state to another. Even the Hindu and Muslim wedding traditions vary from one state to another. Among the Hindu wedding traditions the Bengali, Maharashtrian, Assamese, Maithili Brahmin, Marwari, Telugu, Punjabi, Gujarati, Kannada, Rajasthani, Oriya, Tamil wedding traditions tend to vary greatly from each other.
