Telugu Wedding Traditions is an ideal specimen of the way the Indians look forward to celebrate and perform their wedding ceremony. As South Indians believe in the simplicity of marriages you cannot expect to witness all the grandeur.
The rituals which are basically attributed to marriage are commonly found in Telugu Wedding Traditions. A silver thread is being worn by the groom after the occasion is over. In Kashi yatra ceremony, the groom pretends to leave for the pilgrimage center of Kashi and after several requests accepts the responsibility of a protector of the bride.

On the wedding day the ceremonial bathing of the bride and the groom takes place at the wee hours. The Traditional Telugu Wedding believes in honoring the guest with the arrangements for feast. The guests enjoy their sumptuous meal and bless the new couple for their perennial congeniality. Following the Telugu Wedding Traditions the bride departs her father’s house and arrives at her husband's home for the first time. This is known as Grihapravesh. In Telugu community the newly wed couple had to unite the mangalsutra on the 16th day after the wedding. The Telugu Wedding may not be dressed with excellent decorations yet it has a certain charm which makes it distinct from the other wedding traditions of India.
